Acatenango is in the center of Guatemala’s coffee growing mountains, between Atitlan and Antigua. Fuego, the nearby active volcano, erupts often and provides rich volcanic soil, and cool Pacific winds bring temperate weather and low rainfall, all of which combines to create one of the world’s most prestigious coffee growing regions. Tehuya means “Cold Water” in the native Guatemalan Kakchikel language. The river running through the farm is very cold, and thus the name.

We have found this coffee to have a vibrant acidity with tropical fruit, cocoa, jasmine-like florals, a medium body and a lingering sweet finish.
